L.H. Chords - Bb Position

Mistaken Identity: Pay special attention to these 2 chords, because students tend to mix up the Bb major chord with the B major chord.

Bb Major or B Major!

Why The Mix up? For beginners, and even some intermediate piano students, the B major chord is often mistaken for the Bb major chord.

The Good News: These 2 chords are rarely mixed up when using EZ Read Notation. (see example 1 below)
However, when using traditional notation, both of these chords are mixed up on a fairly regular basis. (see example 2 below)

Awkward To Play: Of course, mixing up the Bb and B major chords isn't the only issue with these 2 chords; for some students they are also awkward to play.

However, looking on the bright side; a few extra days of practice on Exercise 25.2, usually fixes the problem.
