Lesson 39
L.H. Broken Chords
R.H. Blocked Chords

Have Some Fun!

Sometimes it's fun to just goof around on the piano, which is advice my piano teacher never would have given -- but it's good advice nevertheless.

  • You never know what you're going to discover when you  experiment with the skills you've already acquired.

And sometimes these discoveries happen when you're having fun and just goofing around on the piano.

L.H. Broken Chords

  • Practice each broken chord separately if necessary.

Click the play button for the video directly below to see and hear the left hand broken chords for G, D and C major.

R.H. Blocked Chords

It takes a lot of coordination to play the piano, especially if your left hand is playing broken chords and the right is playing a busy melody.

  • You got to experience some of the coordination issues in this lesson that are required to play the piano at a high level.

  • The music from Video 39.3 is a good exercise to play on a regular basis to help you develop and maintain good coordination at the piano.
